"Heat"
There are two ways to do life, with God or without.  God contrasts the two as trees.  One takes the shape of a bush in a wasteland the other a tree planted by the water.  Every tree looks healthy when conditions are really good.  The contrast becomes clear when the heat gets turned up.  The sourece of our life is revealed in the heat.
